Summit Ranch was established when the Lecy's were engaged in April 1992 and later married in October of that same year.  We were drawn to the rugged hills and woodlands of the Rushford area in southeastern Minnesota and started our ranch with a few crossbred beef cattle, a blue heeler dog, and two horses.  God's blessed us, and it's now blossomed into a family of four, over 30 registered AQHA horses, about a dozen longhorn/corriente cattle, 30+ crossbred Angus cattle, and two Border Collies.

We specialize in versatile, performance-bred horses with speed and "cow" for barrel racing, roping, rodeo, and working cow.  Our horses are used to living and working with cattle and are often penned with them from day one. They are also accustomed to our two boys, and you usually find our stallions together or adjacent each other - true testimony to their excellent dispositions.  We also strive for good feet and legs in the horses we breed and raise. Substantial bone and muscling makes for a long-lasting athlete.
